10 Days Uganda Safari

The 10 days Uganda safari with Adventurer Explore Africa, will take you to the most interesting destination in Uganda including Queen Elizabeth National Park Murchison falls, Bwindi impenetrable National Park where by you will be able to see Mountain gorillas Chimpanzees, Hippos Crocodiles Elands Leopard Lion Elephants Uganda Kobs amongst other activities like visiting local people before coming back to where you  hard to enjoy the nature.

Day 1: Entebe
Arrive Entebbe International Airport, you will be met at the airport and transferred to the Lake Victoria Hotel. After you settle in, you are transferred by boat to Ngamba Isalnd Chimpanzee Sanctuary, Uganda’s newest sanctuary for orphaned and rescues Chimps. The transfer to the island takes about 45min. View either a morning or afternoon feeding of the Chimps from the visitor’s platform and hear an informative talk by sanctuary staff. Entebbe is a small town, located on the edge of Lake Victoria. You may also like to spend some time exploring the town on foot, or you can take a taxi into Kampala and visit the craft and curio markets there, the Kasubi Tombs and Museum. In Entebbe there is the Wildlife Education Centre, and you can see, close up, the large, slow-moving shoebill stork, or you can try your hand at golf on the local 9-hole course.

After breakfast, you have a full day’s drive to Bwindi National Park, in the South West of the country. It will be a long day in the vehicle, passing some interesting scenery, farmland and lush green hillsides. Lunch is en route. Accommodation at Buhoma Camp on a full board basis. If you have managed to obtain gorilla tracking permits in Rwanda’s Parc National de Volcans, you continue on to Ruhengeri and use an alternative accommodation option.

Day 3: Bwindi National Park
An early morning start. Today is the day you trek into the ancient rainforest for an encounter with a family of mountain gorillas. These massive primates are extremely rare – only 600 remain. You will get within metres of the family, and spend time amongst them. Mountain Gorillas are wild animals, as such sightings cannot be guaranteed, however the success rate is well over 90%. The rainforests are high in the mountains, so the hike is quite strenuous and high fitness levels are recommended.

Day 4: Bwindi National Park
Further trekking opportunity should permits be available, or the option of a forest walk to look for birds and other primates, alternatively, just relax in this beautiful area. To extend this safari to an 8 day option, an additional 2 nights can be spent at the Queen Elizabeth National Park with all game drives and a boat cruise included.

Day 5: Lake Mburo
You have a drive today, about 6hr, to Lake Mburo, with game viewing en route to the tented camp. Accommodation at Lake Mburo Tented Camp is full board.

Day 6: Departure
Drive back to Entebbe, which should take approximately 7hr, stopping at view points as you cross the equator. You also have a chance to visit the market place in Kampala and the souvenir stalls. Arrive back at Entebbe airport in the late afternoon for your onward travels.
